What is a Director Service Address and why do I need it?

  • All Directors of a company are required by law to provide two addresses to Companies House; their residential address and a Service Address.
  • The residential address is kept confidential and instead the Service Address will be displayed on the publicly accessible Companies House register.
  • If you do not supply an alternate Service Address, then you may use your residential address as your Service Address, but this would result in your home address appearing on the public register.
  • It is the address that Companies House will record against the Directors of a company as a contact address and is where all personal correspondence from Companies House, HMRC and other government departments will be sent.

Why would I use your Director Service Address Service?

Privacy

– If you wish to keep your home address confidential, and do not have access to an alternate address, then using our address as the Directors Service Address will maintain the privacy of your home address.

It is a legal requirement to supply Companies House with both a residential address and a service address for each and every company director.

How does it work and how much does it cost?

  • You select one of our Director Service Address options during the order process
  • You provide us with the forwarding address to which we should send any personal statutory mail received
  • Our Director Service Address services are offered at discounted prices during the company order process. Setup fees are as follows:-
    • North London Director Service Address service - £27 for the first year
    • Central London Director Service Address - £45 for the first year
  • Our address is a genuine office location with dedicated mail handling staff. We do not operate imitation 'mail box' addresses.
  • We will incorporate your company with our address as the Director’s Service Address
  • Once your company is registered, all personal statutory mail received will be sent to the forwarding address you provide on the same day it is received by us via Royal Mail
  • This service is an annual service and will therefore be charged on the anniversary of the service set up date. Renewal fees are as follows:-
    • North London Director Service Address Service - £30 per year
    • Central London Director Service Address Service - £50 per year
  • All personal statutory mail will be forwarded FREE from any postage charges

Due to our legal obligations in complying with the latest Anti-Money Laundering regulations and Know Your Customer requirements, we must confirm the identity and proof of address for any customer taking one of our address services. We will attempt to do so using an electronic lookup function, but if this is unsuccessful, we will contact you outlining what hardcopy documents we require.

What is a Director Service Address?

When a Director is appointed to a company, they are required to provide two addresses to the Registrar; their residential address and a Service Address. The address provided as their residential address is kept confidential by Companies House and only disclosed to Public Authorities and Credit Reference Agencies, while the address provided as a Service Address will be placed on the public register as the contact address for the Director. If the Director does not have a separate Service Address then they can use their residential address as their Service Address, but this would result in their home address appearing on the public register.

Why use our Director Service Address service?

If you are to be appointed as a director and do not have a separate address that you could use as your Service Address, but would prefer that your home address was not made public, then you may wish to use one of our Director Service Address services.

With

these services, we will allow you to use our address as your Director Service Address and will forward all letters received for your specific attention to your nominated forwarding address at no additional charge.

Can I use your Director Service address as my companies Registered Office address?

No. The Director Service Address service is solely for the receipt and forwarding of statutory mail addressed specifically to an individual director. If you wish to use one of our addresses as the Registered Office address of your company, you will need to purchase one of our Registered Office services separately.

What happens if non statutory mail is received at your address for a Director?

If we receive mail for you that is not covered by the Director Service Address service, and you do not have our Mail Forwarding Service, then we will notify you of receipt of mail by email. If you do not require the mail then we will return it to sender, which filters out unsolicited junk and marketing material.

What if I wish to cancel the service at a later date?

No problem. Just let us know the new address to be listed as the Director Service Address and we will file the necessary changes with Companies House free of charge.
